Chris C. McDevitt, CPA/PFS, CFP

Chris grew up in Edmonds and is a graduate of the University of Washington. Chris has been a CPA in public practice for over 30 years with a primary focus on tax and financial planning for small businesses and their owners. Chris is also a certified financial planner (CFP) and a personal financial specialist (PFS) and especially enjoys helping his clients make smart choices about money.

Chris and his wife Terri live in Edmonds and have three daughters, all college graduates out on their own (an OSU Beaver, WSU Cougar and a Seattle U Redhawk).

Chris is one of nine children in the McDevitt family that has been active in the Edmonds community for many years. Their annual family golf tournament (Tim McDevitt Golf Classic) in honor of Chris’ oldest brother has generated over $200,000 for local charities.

Chris, along with his wife Terri have spent many years coaching their kids soccer, basketball and softball teams. Chris is also a past President of the Edmonds Chamber of Commerce and board member of the South Snohomish County Chamber of Commerce, the Sno-King Youth Club and the Northshore Youth  Basketball Association. He is also a member of the American Institute and Washington Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Chris enjoys spending portions of “tax season” working from his winter home in Arizona and the outdoor activities available there, like golfing and hiking.

I set off to University of Washington with the idea of being something different than everyone else in my family…a nuclear engineer. But a course in physics convinced me a degree in accounting might be the better choice. Twenty plus years later I love what I do.

The aspect of accounting I enjoy most, is the problem solving. Whether we’re looking at a cash flow problem in your business or searching for a strategy to minimize taxes, there are a hundred different solutions. The challenge is finding the right one for you. The one that fits your unique business situation.

A little about me:

  • Married to a Tukwila firefighter and the best dad ever
  • Mom to three kids
  • Favorite vacation: 3 month camping trip to Maine, Florida and back with my husband and 3 kids
  • I’m a little addicted to HGTV
  • I’m going to take tennis lessons this year
